Oktoberfest – Helen, GA. The 48th annual nearly month-long celebration of all things German – food, music, beer, fashion and fun – runs from October 8, 2018 to October 28, 2018. Live bands are featured every weekend at Helen Festhalle so folks young and old can get their “Polka” on, and phenomenal German food and beer is on the menu. The Beergarten is also dog friendly if you’re traveling with a four-legged pal. It’s one festival that should be on your bucket list. For more information visit

Georgia Mountain Fall Festival – Hiawassee, GA. Running October 12-2-, 2018, this 9-day event features exciting musical performances, arts & craft vendors, educational demonstrations, a flower show and the ever-popular Georgia’s Official State Fiddlers’ Convention. Admission is $12.00 (Children 12 and under free) and a 3-Day Pass is $33.00 (Available at the gate) and includes performances by nationally known musical artists. Click here for a full schedule. Toccoa Harvest Festival – Toccoa, GA. October 27-28, 2018. This two-day event features hundreds of craftsmen, performing dancers, jazz, rock and roll, and country music, as well as an antique and classic car show. Children and youth activities include rides, face painting, rock climbing, moon walk, petting zoo, and more. A shuttle takes visitors to beautiful Toccoa Falls, one of the tallest free-falling waterfalls east of the Mississippi. For more information visit MainStreet Toccoa.

Corn Mazes and Pumpkin Patches

Jaemor Farms – Alto, GA. Now through November 4, 2018. One of Northeast Georgia’s most popular attractions, this family-owned farm features a 6 acre adventure through corn cut in the shape of hometown heroes – first responders, firemen and police officers. For the less adventurous or very young, they also offer a mini corn maze in the shape of a police officer with a much shorter distance to navigate. Hayrides, a pumpkin train, a petting zoo and a variety of farm games round out the activities. This working farm also features a U-pick pumpkin patch along with a selection of pre-picked pumpkins and gourds for your fall décor. Hillside Orchard Farms – Lakemont, GA. This three-generation family owned and operated farm and orchard features a corn maze that runs through October that includes in it a game telling more about an activity or item on the farm. In addition guests may take a hayride, feed the goats or mine for gems, fossils and arrowheads. While enjoying a day on the farm, visitors can also pick their own apples from the abundant orchards.
