I know Atlanta and its suburbs are wonderful to visit, but during COVID 19 you may feel like a captive. So let’s contemplate a change of scenery. Where would you like to go? We envision a location with cool nights and sunny days. A place where fireflies light the night. How about an area offering evening whiffs of wood fire smoke and clear sky views of night stars.

Guess what, our town of Clayton, Georgia is only a 2-hour drive from most of metro-Atlanta. It is an adorable mountain town jammed with cute artisan galleries, gear shops, and an ax throwing venue outdoor cafés with farm to table dining and lounges with craft cocktails. We also have 4 nearby wineries and three nearby award winning distilleries

Then, just out of town we have white water rafting, great fishing, hiking, 27 waterfalls, mountain golf and lakes galore. The Appalachian and Bartram Trails traverse our county, not counting many local and state park trails, and did I mention we have three state parks in our county.,, and

Our County of Rabun was designated by the state legislature as the “Farm to Table Capital of Georgia” recognizing our large number of local farms, orchards, dairies and vineyards. So pack up the family car with some light jackets, hiking boots and head to the North Georgia Mountains.

But you better make reservations for lodging or a camping space as you don’t want to be homeless upon arrival. Where to go? How about an adorable award winning bed and breakfast inn.
