The Inn features Northeast Georgia’s only Wine Spectator Award of Excellence wine list. Both Beechwood Inn Executive Chef David Darugh and Pastry Chef Gayle Darugh were selected “Best Chefs America 2016.” The inn features a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence selection of wines. Wine Enthusiast Magazine places Beechwood Inn in the Top 5 Destinations “for your next wine and food-focused escape.”

Feb 1: Winter Dinner in Provence at Beechwood Inn:  On Friday Night we will offer hors d’ oevres and wine at 5:30pm.  On Saturday Night we will offer a full feast from the South of France, featuring rare and wonderful wines. Saturday Dinner and wines is $99 per person, plus tax and gratuity.  Dinner includes one glass of the suggested wines with each course, additional wine available from our wine list. Aperitif at 6:30, dinner seating Dinner is served at 7:00pm.

Appetizer: Crevettes Chaudes au Beurre, Shrimps Sauteed in Lemon Butter with Fresh Herbs on House-Made Egg Noodles, 2014 Domaine Les Grands Bois, Cairanne, Cotes du Rhone

 Salad:  Salad Provencal

Entrée: Pastured Organic Beef with Black Peppercorns

Buttermilk Potato Puree with Fresh Herbs,

Roasted Local Vegetables with Herbed Garlic Sauce,

Glass of Wine

Dessert: Almond Tart with Vanilla Cream

Fresh Brewed Coffee and Herb Teas

Please let us know of dietary restrictions at least 48 hours in advance. Unless the power is out and the roads are closed we will be open for dinner. Our cancellation policy for these dinners is 4 days as we must schedule purchases from local farmers.

Yes, let’s talk about the food! As soon as we saw that the owners, Chefs Gayle and David, went to culinary school in Dijon, France, we couldn’t contain our excitement! Having just recently returned from Burgundy, we were ready for an amazing meal! Every Saturday night, the Beechwood Inn throws an amazing six course meal.

Ryan and I live in Decatur, a wonderful location for Atlanta restaurants, and we make it a point to try new and exciting places. In that sense, we are very much spoiled. We also plan most of our trips abroad around eating, so trust me on this next part. This was quite possibly the best meal that we have ever hadIt was, by far, the most well thought out meal that we have ever been served. Between each course, David walked us all through the ingredients. We learned about the local farmers who grew the micro-greens in our salad and raised the pigs for the house-made fennel sausage; we even learned the history of Laurel-Aged Charleston Gold Rice. Each wine pairing was excellent, and David explained their characteristics, their regions of origin, and the best way to taste our glass of Italian Aglianico when paired with our cheese course. We shared a table with another couple, and they were equally impressed with such a fine dining experience outside of the city.
