Best Instagram Shot Spots in Northeast Georgia: We own and operate Beechwood Inn Bed and Breakfast in Clayton, Georgia. We are always looking for ways to entertain our guests and expand their opportunities to enjoy themselves during their visit to our corner of North Georgia. Over the years we have collected a number of locations offering some great opportunities to make Instagram memories. Here are few we go back to over and over – looking for the mood, setting sun or unusual approach to making our friends a little envious or our location. None are a long drive from Beechwood Inn. We are in the very northeast corner of Georgia, so we consider locales in nearby North Carolina and South Carolina for inclusion in the article.
Number 1: Pickens Nose, NC: Not a long drive from Beechwood Inn. Directions: Take highway 441 north from Clayton, GA to the community of Otto, NC. Turn left onto Coweeta Lab Road. Drive several miles up this road and you will see the Coweeta Hydrologic Lab on your right. Continue on past the lab and the road becomes a gravel Forest Service road 83. Continue up this road for several miles and you will come to a sign for Pickens Nose. There is a parking area here.
Number 2: Sunflowers in Long Creek, SC: It is just a short drive to Long Creek, SC, but to catch the sunflower fields as peek bloom is pretty special. Time your trip to capture some great cloud formations before an afternoon rain. Turn right on State Road S-37-538 as you enter South Carolina from Clayton, GA. Go about 1 mile and the field is on the right.
Number 3: View of Black Rock Lake at Black Rock Mountain State Park on a windless day. Just a short drive from Beechwood Inn.

Number 5: Fall day at Chattooga Belle Farm in Long Creek SC, about a 15 minute drive from Beechwood Inn. Probably the best view of the south facing front range of the Appalachian Mountain Range. No. 6: Tallulah Gorge any time of the year but especially Autumn. Deepest Gorge East of the Mississippi. Hiking and water sports. https://gastateparks.org/TallulahGorge
No 7: View from the top of Black Rock Mountain at sunset. The Southern Appalachian Mountains hold fort across the northern portion of Georgia offer stunning vistas.
No 8: Take a boat ride on Lake Rabun or Lake Burton. The series of Lakes in Rabun County offer stunning views of boats, shoreline, mountains and expensive homes. Several companies offer boat tours. No. 9: Visit Moonrise Distillery. Yes, taking images and posting them to Instagram while visiting our our friends at Moonrise Distillery will get lots of interest. Lots of wonderful products. Try their Bourbon Pecan Ice Cream.
No 10: Just chill out on the front porch of Beechwood Inn. The shots you can take and share while sipping a glass of wine are pretty spectacular. And we will wait on you.
